Educating others about Nano

After delegating a representative and optionally running your own node, educating others about Nano is the best thing you can do to help the community thrive. After all, more distributed participants within the network makes Nano stronger.

Since you’ve already moved your funds to a wallet and set a decent representative, educating and spreading awareness is the most effective thing you can do to help Nano grow to its fullest potential.

One of the more effective ways to organize thought and help foster action within others is by use of techniques described by response hierarchy models. In short, a response hierarchy model describes human action and the thought processes involved.

One of the more popular response hierarchy models for describing adoption, and action in general, is the AIDA model pictured below. For the purpose of our initiative, simply awareness is our goal for now.

If our end goal is to have more people using Nano, then our primary goal should be simply awareness. Convincing someone to use or even buy Nano generally isn’t necessary, nor is it realistically feasible for us to advocate for. However, simply making someone aware of the speed and fee-less nature of Nano compared to the majority of assumptions people have about digital currencies as a whole will generate interest in some people. With time and more awareness, their interest will organically grow to desire and eventually action. Therefore, all that is needed for now is awareness.

One of the simplest ways to spread Nano awareness is to have someone download the Natrium wallet or another mobile Nano wallet, and send them an insignificant amount of Nano. They will see the ease in sending and receiving these small payments– fast and without fees. If they’ve ever used other digital currencies before, there’s a good chance they will see and now be aware of these benefits.
