Running your own node, and thereby becoming a representative, is a great way to contribute to the network! The more representatives the Nano network has, the more decentralized and robust the network can become. The best nodes generally are online nearly 24/7 and always have good up-time (the measure of a node’s online time). Whichever way you choose to run your node, up-time is the metric people generally judge representatives by.
